OUTLINE:
Housing the head offices of the oldest credit card company in the world, mean that the classis double facade house on Leidsegracht had some serious internal changes. Two floor contained strong rooms the size of generous bathrooms, with reinforced doors that require three men to close them! Left intact and now used as printer and copy areas, the rest of the offices have the feel of an open contemporary gentleman's club, with an inspiring view on wonderful, timeless landscaped Japanese garden which is now 35 years old.
CONSTRAINTS:
Large vaulted area and an interior modified in '70's style to accommodate a functional corporate HQ
CONCEPT VISION:
To retain the use of a functional environment, but to add quality of life(style) compatible with the building. Extend the classical serenity of the gardens into a busy working interior which is the the head office for VictoriaLofts nv and all connected companies.
